Joshua Generation emerged from a defining moment that became a mandate to show a fatherless generation they are fatherless no more, and to strengthen families, equip leaders, and support communities toward lasting transformation. Jody and Sunny Trautwein carry a calling shaped by decades of ministry, leadership, and experience.
On March 19, 1995, Jody watched his earthly father have a massive heart attack at their home church in Birmingham, Alabama. Jody’s father stepped into eternity that day as he graduated to glory, but not before having demonstrated and declared to Jody that God was and will always be his Heavenly Father, so he would never be fatherless! 

 

Eight years later in 2003 while serving students, educators, and families as well as community and city leaders in and through numerous schools, the Holy Spirit inspired Jody to write the original vision for Joshua Generation, focused on equipping a generation to enter the Promised Land of God’s presence through His Son Jesus! Many have deemed this generation a fatherless generation. Jody’s desire then and now is to show and tell them they are fatherless no more by introducing them to our Heavenly Father!

 

In March of 2010, Jody married the love of his life, Sunny Harris, who at the time was serving on staff with Alabama Teen Challenge. Jody and Sunny have two sons, Joshua and Justus.
